Rowlinson Packaging in Thetford manufactures boxes for many different crops.
We have added a new 29,000 ft² production unit to our Thetford factory. The new unit is capable of making over 1,000 Potato boxes a week and we have outside storage space for over 3,000 boxes. If you require your boxes over a few months; no problem; we can make them against an order and hold them for you ready to be fed into your system when required. Both delivery and collection are available.

Payloads in excess of 1,000Kg
All BS7611 designs are certified to a nominal 1,000Kg. Some buyers however may require payloads higher than 1,000Kg. While BS7611 does not allow the box to be marked to this load capacity, under BS7611 a total crop weight of 1150Kg is permitted. Please call us to discuss in more detail if this applies to you.
There are many new proposed revisions to BS 7611:1992. If you have any questions regarding design changes please call us to discuss.
Nail plate or Timber Diagonals?
Facts first: Both nail plates and timber diagonal braced boxes comply with BS7611.
That said to reduce prices we have just invested in a nail plate machine that is quick and easy to use. This efficiency means that we can pass the savings on to you offering you cheaper prices for nail plate boxes against boxes braced with timber diagonals.
If you prefer to use timber diagonal boxes like the one below, we can still offer these boxes at prices that are very competitive against any other supplier.
Additional services to growers:
Factory Collection: Our main potato box factory is at the heart of the potato growing area in Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 3RY we do have another in Wardle, Cheshire, CW5 6BN. If you are in the area making deliveries or just passing you can always collect and transport them back to your factory on a back-load, this is a great way to reduce your purchase costs.
On-site Maintenance: All farms that use potato boxes have damages. Our repair team are all time served employees, (not agency staff), and have years of experience in box making. They are on call all year round allowing you to plan your maintenance programme. On-going maintenance is the best way to reduce higher replacement costs.
Repair Parts: As we cut thousands of pieces of timber for production, we can also offer you a great deal on repair parts. All repair parts are cut to exactly the right length using the latest technology computer controlled saws. Accuracy is the key to making repairs quick and easy and repairs that stand the test of time – why not ask us to repair your boxes for you?
Farm logos: We have our own in-house stencil making machine. So whatever your logo we have the ability to print it along with your contact details and any box numbering you may require. Send us the text and logo along with your colour choice and we will create an image of what it will look like so that you know exactly what your potato boxes will look like on arrival.
Bar Coding and Numbering: If you want to track your boxes why not barcode them? Applying a barcode printed on a metal plate is quick and easy. If barcoding is a step to far why not simply number them?
